Welcome

With over forty-four years of extensive legal experience, I am versed in estate planning, trust and estate administration, fiduciary relationships, charitable giving, and the formation and continuation of business and charitable entities.  My priority and passion are to ensure that each client's specific needs and desires are addressed in a well-presented plan to limit future controversies between family members and business associates. 

I am highly organized, detail-oriented, and a creative problem solver.  I am intuitive and help my clients address personal, family, and business issues that are often difficult to confront.  My role is to draw out my clients--to ask probing questions--to ensure that I have the necessary information to advocate for them.  My function is to make things possible--to provide alternatives and possibilities--and to make things easy, not complicated.

I have been listed for twenty-six consecutive years as a Trusts and Estates Lawyer in the Best Lawyers in America, most recently in the 2025 Edition.  Between 1999 and 2002, I was one of only two female lawyers selected as a Best Lawyer over all legal categories in Charlotte. For five consecutive years, I have been listed as an Elite Lawyer.  I also have an AV Peer Review Rating (5.0/5.0 in legal knowledge, analytic capability, judgment, communication, and legal experience) from Martindale-Hubbell--the highest ranking available.
